- Extension/Research/Teaching, Dept. of Agronomy, Purdue University. 1974-1982). Responsible for statewide program in corn production Extension and Research; Coordinated initial work in computer applications in agronomy
- Midwest Director, Potash & Phosphate Institute (1982-2004); Vice-President of FAR
- President, Foundation for Agronomic Research (2004-2008)
- Past chairman of the International Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) Board.
- One of the originators of the Information Agriculture (InfoAg) Conference series.
- Widely known for encouraging the development of high yield crop and soil management systems through efficient agronomic applications for new technology, including remote sensing, geographic information systems, and site-specific management.
