Basic support for the Foundation of Agronomic Research (FAR) comes from the member companies of the International Plant Nutrition Institute (IPNI). In addition to cash contributions, this support, an in-kind contribution of staff time committed to FAR programs, plus clerical, administrative and editorial support.
Other major FAR contributions come from a wide variety of agribusiness companies. These companies support both the General Fund (non-directed contributions) and directed research support for projects specifically defined by the contributing company.
Many contributions to FAR educational programs come in the form of event sponsorships (InfoAg, ICPA, etc.).
FAR also obtains funding through competitive grants at the state, regional and national level. These grants come from government agencies, fertilizer and commodity check-off programs and other foundations.
